Based just outside of Oxford is a revolutionary software house, delivering specialist information solutions across the globe; their work is ground-breaking and world class. They have pioneered IT solutions with software engineering principles and they have built a reputation of outstanding customer service. Located within a spacious and modern business park they seek an Infrastructure Architect. The crux of the position will be to promote and take responsibility for creating and leading the strategic direction of technology infrastructure across the firm.



You will be responsible for the concept of solutions, defining and integrating application, web and database servers into complex data centre environments. You will have a proven ability to architect for greater scalability and optimization, taking into account both operational and cost efficiency.



You will integrate applications with multiple service layers across new and existing environments, communicating with technical staff and translating application requirements into server and network access requirements, working with system administrators, application architects, database administrators, developers and project governance staff.



Your background will cover experience of large hosting implementations, with domain expertise in cloud computing, able to produce multi-tiered, load-balanced, scalable, redundant infrastructure architectures using SQL, IIS, .NET or C#. You will have a deep understanding of infrastructure design and the build of "cloud products" such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, S3, EC2 etc. You will be accustomed to performance tuning, and troubleshooting highly available, secure systems using best-of-breed technologies (think Puppet, VMWare Automation, etc.)
