Intermediate Project Manager

Toronto, Canada Area, CA - Construction, Architecture & Planning, Building Materials

Reporting to the Team Leader you will be responsible for facilitating most aspects of a project and provide support during all phases of a project, with particular focus at the end of design development, during value engineering, review of construction documents and construction administration.



The key areas of responsibility:

• Preparation of project schedules, obtain budget pricing from specialty contractors for specific projects

• Support design teams in getting custom samples made

• Monitor project schedules, budget costs, and ensure compliance with design intent

• Review job progress and address pricing and scheduling concerns directly with clients

• Developing strategies for construction of projects (Bid packages for tender, contractor selection and negotiation).

• Review construction documents before they are issued to advise and flag potential design, construction and execution issues



For all construction administration the project management team is responsible for facilitating the construction of a project in coordination with the design team leader. Should procurement services be required for a project the Project Manager will be responsible for preparing a proposal for the work, download and provide the Project Coordinator with all relevant information.



A Degree in a related field of Design (Interior design, Architecture) is desired. Two plus solid years of work experience and adequate knowledge of the Interior Design Profession, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, hand sketching are also necessary. Any additional languages are also highly desirable.



This Design Project Manager role will be based in Toronto, Ontario. It is a permanent position and offers a generous salary with full benefits. The job will involve occasional Travel across Canada and the US during the construction phase of the project. This job has arisen due to growth of the company.
