A National Peak Body are currently looking for a Policy and Research Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join an innovative and forward- thinking organisation who are the leaders in championing support and promoting quality outcomes for children across Australia.



The right candidate will possess a passion for policy and research, be a keen networker who is able to create strong and lasting relationships with the ability to think strategically and contribute ideas that will positively impact the organisation. You will also require the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and clearly and effectively communicate the position of the organisation. Your exceptional written and spoken communication will set you apart as the right candidate for this position.



As the Policy and Advocacy Officer your key responsibilities will include liaising with industry stakeholders such as government and regulatory authorities, carrying out research and writing briefings as required, swiftly responding to issues as they arise, monitoring, analysing and evaluating current and proposed policy and legislation that may impact the industry, developing and supporting advocacy strategies, provide secretariat support to internal and external stakeholders, be the key point of contact for the media team for policy related media issues and contribute to the preparation of important policy submissions, reports and articles.



To be successful in this position you will need to have a tertiary qualification in public policy, economics, politics, law or a related discipline, have a strong work ethic, the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, be a flexible and creative thinker and politically astute with sound judgement. The ability to travel or relocate to the Central Coast will also be essential to be considered for this position.
