Senior Tax Analyst

China, CN - Information Technology and Services

• Prepares and files monthly transaction tax returns, including gathering, analyzing, and compiling income tax data.





• Drives tax planning activities and research including estimated tax forecasts and other projects that involve a high degree of complexity, under review.





• Works on priority projects in both the tax compliance and accounting areas.

• Drives research and documents company-wide tax systems.





• Analyzes information and assists with planning opportunities to minimize tax liabilities.





• Responds to notices from various tax authorities, under supervision.





• Contributes to business- or function-wide solutions that impact multiple business units and/or countries.





• Typically partners with internal clients from BU and finance team at the Director and above levels.





• Works across different functions and levels within the organization.



Tax Specialist

Directs and sets the organization's Tax Policy, participates with other business units in planning the organization's activities in all phases of its business operations to maximize after tax profits and resulting cash flows. Organizes and directs the tax research and tax compliance activities. This role oversees the preparation and review of tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax statues and regulations by properly interpreting tax laws and regulations to minimize tax liability to the company. The role also needs to assist her/his manager to engage business, including meeting with BU to understand the business, identify enhancement opportunities, such as compliance quality and benefit to P/L





Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:







• University degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.

• Typically 6+ years of related experience in tax.



Knowledge and Skills Required:







• Thorough knowledge of China taxation systems, VAT knowledge or hand-on experirence is preferred

• Advanced knowledge of the VAT reform and key issues





• Excellent communication, leadership, and influence skills





• Strong financial and business acumen





• Strong project management, problem solving, and analytical skills





• Knowledge of tax and accounting software desirable















1. At least 7 years tax experience, including well recognized accounting firm experience of more than 4 years. In-house tax experience is preferred.



2. Broad experience in advising tax issues, including indirect tax, income tax and M&A tax



3. Approved project management skills, such as leading a team of 2-5 members to work on projects



4. Solid accounting knowledge, tax due diligence experience is a plus



5. Proactive, self-motivated and open-minded, willing to learn the business and working with people from different functions



6. Enjoy the process of communicating and persuading others to reach agreement and deliver result



7. Good sense of risk control



8. Ability of handling multiple tasks at the same time and pressure



9. Confidence in using English as working language, i.e., can attend discussion in English, prepare memo to analyze tax issues in English



10. CPA or CTA is a plus, nut not a must
