Citrix Technical Specialist (Xenapp / XenDesktop)

United Kingdom, GB - Information Technology and Services

As a Citrix Technical Specialist you will join our existing third/fourth line technical support team. The team specialises in supporting both Citrix and VMWare virtualisation technologies for various customers in both the public and private sector.



Key responsibilities for the role:



Provide expertise and resolution for change requests, service requests, problems and incidents.



Virtual Desktop and Application publishing and delivery (XenDesktop /XenApp 7.6 & App-V 5).



Monitoring security, performance, capacity and availability of XenDesktop/XenApp farms.



Create technical support documentation and reports.



Planning for disaster recovery & high availability systems.



Provide quality assurance of activities involving implementation of Citrix technologies.



Provide specialist input into the design, implementation and maintenance procedures of Citrix-based workplace solutions.



Implementation of BAU and project upgrades.



Maintain an awareness of current developments in Citrix-based products.



Maintaining the Citrix Infrastructure to ensure it is securely kept up to date and compliant with vendor support.



Ability to proactively assess and mitigate any threats that may affect the stability or security of the Citrix Infrastructure to ensure the client is protected.



Job Requirements



Essential / Minimum Criteria:



Strong support background spanning at least 3 years across virtualisation technologies, i.e. either Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop



Proficient with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS)



Understanding of the supporting technologies of a Virtual environment, Networks, Windows Server 2008 R2/2012, Active Directory, Group Policies, Hypervisors, Storage & Thin Clients



Awareness of application virtualisation and application streaming concepts



Ability to create good quality Technical support documentation and reports in accordance with Atos standards



Experience of Disaster recovery planning & high availability systems



Desirable Criteria



Significant enterprise level experience of deploying and supporting Citrix XenApp in a corporate environment



Windows Server 2012



Hyper-V 2012



Powershell Scripting



Experience of mobile device management products specifically XenMobile or VMWare AirWatch



Microsoft User Experience Virtualization (UE-V)



Microsoft SQL Server
