Hays Construction are working exclusively with a well established fitout contractor who are commencing business in NSW over the next 3 months. Our client have been operational for over 20 years and have a long list of satisfied clients within the corporate and institutional fitout market in their home state. Currently turning over nearly $50million they are looking to develop their brand in the NSW market and are looking to hire a general manager to lead this strategy.
As general manager you will have a multi-faceted and varied role. Initially you will be responsible for managing up to 8 staff locally in NSW with a team of project managers, estimators and forepeople. Your key role will be to motivate , engage and develop your team to deliver a quality product to your existing client base. Along with that a fundamental aspect of the role of general manager will be to work with the estimators and your managing director in tripling the turnover of the business in NSW over the next three years. This will involve developing our clients network within the key stakeholders of the fitout markets from architects, property owners and project management consultancies.
The ideal candidate is currently working for tier 2 or tier 3 fitout contractor as an operations manager or senior project manager with operational responsibilities. You will be an expert in the successful delivery of fitout projects up to a value of $5million and have a strong background in this area. You understand the commercial area of running a successful fitout project and aspire to apply these skills across a business rather than 1 or 2 projects. An established network within the fitout market in Sydney would be highly advantageous and a demonstrated track record of pitching and winning fitout projects as a PM or construction manager is desirable. Above all you are ambitious with a desire to deploy your technical and leadership skills to developing a strong fitout company in the busy Sydney market.
