Financial Controller

An exciting and challenging opportunity for the role of Financial Controller (FC) has become available at Imagine Publishing. This is a critical role for the company which will require you to work closely with the UK Finance Director and provide financial insight to other Directors and areas of the business. Following years of success within the publishing industry, Imagine is continuing to push into the fresh 'Digital Market' space and so requires an FC who understands the collaborative goals of a commercial and forward thinking organisation.



The Financial Controller is responsible for all of the Group's accounting functions. The primary role is to manage and develop the responsibilities of the Finance department which will include ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of the monthly management accounts and the management of internal controls. The role also involves:



· Close liaison with other internal departments and with the UK Finance Director on strategy and business development.

· Managing the finalisation of the Group's statutory accounts and tax computations.

· Co-ordinating the audit process with the Group's auditors.

· Daily responsibilities to include Forecasting, MI, Treasury, Credit Management, Payroll and Compliance.

· The day to day management and motivation of the Finance team, ensuring effective and efficient workflow practices and the professional development of team members.



For this role you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA), or finalist level as a minimum. This role is ideally suited to someone with at least two years senior level experience in a similar role and with a similar type of commercial background.



A high level of commercial acumen is imperative. You'll also need to be a good time manager and possess effective communication and team leadership skills.
