Assistant Buyer

Assistant Buyer / Exeter / Permanent / £19000.



The successful candidate will conduct and support the procurement function for a diverse business. Key responsibilities as follows-



· Develop effective supplier relationships, both directly and through the wider supply chain team, to procure, improve and deliver value for the business.

· Evaluating customer schedules and expediting components externally and internally to ensure the delivery of customer requirements.

· Administration of supply, costing and pricing discrepancies and their correction.

· Regularly monitoring vendor performance and highlighting supplier performance issues.

· Ensure that inventory investment and service levels targets are consistently fulfilled.



Required Experience-



· Experience in direct procurement and / or commodity management.



· Working knowledge of procurement best practice.



· A continuous drive to improve procurement and planning processes.



· Excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to plan and organise effectively.



· Good analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.



· A methodical and structured approach to work.



· IT competence including Microsoft Office applications.
