Software Engineer - Storage Management

Fort Collins, Colorado Area, US - Computer Hardware

Description



This is a great opportunity to join a small, agile, energetic, & high-powered team in HP, developing storage management software for an industry leading storage array product. This engineer will have the opportunity to be directly involved in the design, development, & test of this product.



The successful developer will have broad experience with application-level programming (C++) and GUI development in both a Windows and Linux environment. We require at least 5 years programming experience, a computer science or equivalent degree, and experience in web technologies such as HTML5, REST and JSON. Some experience with storage related protocols such as CIM/SMI-S and iSCSI would also be useful. We are a small research and development arm of a large company, using state of the art tools and design techniques to produce world-class storage products.



Responsibilities



  • Working in an Agile team environment to design, code, and test Storage Area Network management applications




  • Working with external partners to integrate and support our product through an SDK.




  • Working closely with test and support teams for product troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 - 10 years experience as a developer

  • Past experience developing and testing with C++, Java, or C#

  • Windows or Linux application-level programming

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Past experience with joint-development programs

  • BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent


Desired Qualifications:



  • GUI development with HTML5 and related technologies such as jQuery

    REST, web-services, JSON

  • CIM, SMIS

  • Agile methodology

  • Knowledge of storage technologies and applications (iSCSI, FC, Disk/Tape, VMware SRM, VSS...)

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperV...)

  • Wide exposure to programming environments including Linux, Windows, Java, C#, Python

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
