Apple’s Enterprise Technology Services group is seeking an exceptional Operations Engineer who will ensure the availability, performance, maintenance and 3rd level support of a high volume, highly available, mission critical enterprise Identity Management system. Key Qualifications
- Experience with production deployment, monitoring and operational support for Enterprise class applications
- Hands-on experience in Unix, Linux, Java, J2EE, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle, Load Balancers and Firewalls
- Experience in Information Security and Fraud analytics
- 4 years experience leading software engineer teams
- 4 years experience with enterprise class application development
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Description
The Operations Engineer position requires strategic engineering, along with tactical hands-on technical work. The Operations Engineer will be responsible for the full system lifecycle including configuration and code deployment in user acceptance test and production environments. The Operations Engineer will be responsible for driving security Incident Monitoring and Incident Management. The Operations Engineer will work closely with Apple's production support team, application engineers, project managers, systems engineers, network engineers, database administrators and QA team.
The successful candidate will also need to effectively guide incident response of a cross-functional second-level support team and third-level support teams to troubleshoot and address database, OS, application, network and any other issues. Successful coordination of efforts of other teams within Apple will be an essential responsibility.
For this position, exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary. A very good balance of process-oriented thinking skills and experience in application high availability is a must. Successful candidate must be able to function at a high level in critical situations.
Education
BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 5-8 years of relevant work experience
MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 8-10 years of relevant work experience
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of PKI services
Experience dealing with onshore and offshore teams
Demonstrated experience with a variety of development methodologies and willingness to adapt these to the needs of an organization
Comfortable with source version control software (CVS & SVN)
Strong Unix/Linux experience
Any experience in Identity and Access Management is a plus
