One of Queensland's major coal operators is now offering a short term contract opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who has a view to work within a development role that has exposure across site functions and legislative requirements. As one of the world's largest mining groups' their consistent performance has resulted in this excellent career opportunity, offering an early January start, for a contract lasting until April 2015. The role is suited to a resident within 100km of the Brisbane airport as the opportunity is only being offered to FIFO candidates within this area.



This specialist role involves using your Mechanical engineering background to take a process based approach to engineering design and technical aspects, critical to the maintenance of operations. Providing specialist mechanical engineering expertise to ensure robust change control and document management processes are enabling the delivery of continual site improvement programs. You will focus on engineering standards, specification drawings, processes, systems and procedures to ensure modifications to plants, equipment and infrastructure meet the specified requirements and are approved. You will assist with site project portfolios, from conception through management and development and on to the business case development support for the analysis & improvement, and process control and improvement functions.



To be successful in this role you will have relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, along with exposure to process controls, portfolios and engineering design work. It is preferable that you possess an understanding governance and technical knowledge and critical that you are a technically competent engineer wanting to support broader goals of the site and company. To be eligible for this role you will already have a current Standard 11 Certificate and current Coal Board Medical within 24 months, in order for an early January start. This role has an immediate start date so applications will be processed in a matter of urgency.
