Rigid Media and Applications Engineer for Large Format Printing

The Large Format Media/Applications Engineer is responsible for the technical development of new/Current applications with the collaboration/partnership of the Media industry. He/She will be supporting new introduction with the alignment of marketing, and resolving media/applications needs from the current install base.
• Develops new applications through interaction with internal and external parties (Customers, resellers, Media industry, Demo Center, Marketing, GTM).
• Drives the testing leadership (definition, methodology and thresholds) aligned with the Lab & Certification program.
• Identifies and takes action to overcome media availability gaps (such as media type, pricing, distribution); manages the processes of internal certifications (latex certification program) and external ones (industry).
• Ensures application/media compatibility to cover the market breadth based on the HW product developed and supports proper reporting through the different program checkpoints.
• Supports the program pre-intro readiness activities: Early Customer units (Beta, Early Trade Unit (ETU). Ensures a correct knowledge transfer by developing and deploying the media/applications intro trainings (Sales and support)
• Compiles media/application performance feedback (customer needs, functionality limitations, recurrent issues, customer satisfaction...) from media perspective and seeks for product improvement.
• Defines and manages technical (media/Application) deal requests. Interfaces with other internal departments (R&D, Ops engineering and Marketing) and involves them as appropriate. Ensures effective communication and collaboration among all parties.
• Contributes to the technical content in collaboration with CA, HP internal parties(R&D, Customer Experience…) and external vendors, ensuring is reaching End user and partners, through the available HP communication channels
Qualifications
• Solid Technical Background: Bachelor's (or upper) Degree in Engineering discipline with: 8+ years of working experience in Large format printing Industry. Solid knowledge on printing technologies, Proficient in System Workflows, SW applications, post-processing systems: demonstrated media profiling skills (color management, color pipeline). SW RIPs management at both end-customer and support level. that allows a better development of products and applications (workflow, postprocessing, design tools, color management, …).
• Strong analytical skills: solid and demonstrable troubleshooting skills with ability to translate customer faced
Symptoms into product issues. Is able to analyze technical issues, using engineering troubleshooting techniques. Understands and puts in place concepts, processes, and associated techniques to effectively work within a project.
Structured, Interpersonal skills, consultant referee.
• Deep market knowledge, its segments and associated applications, key media vendors, products, competitors in each segment (flexible and Rigid Market), >5 years of demonstrated experience in end-user applications: soft and rigid Signage (textile, POP, vehicle wrapping, soft signage….)
• Superior customer focus, knows the customers’ needs, key satisfaction/dissatisfaction drivers, challenges and how all of those affect the customer’s business. >5 years of proven customer-facing responsibilities on customer support escalation management or pre-sales technical role.
• Strong Team Building: Able to maximize the synergies of the internal/External teams.
• Technical Communication skills: demonstrated experience providing technical trainings to channel partners, end users and sales audiences. Capable of defining detailed technical action plans and to manage the communication strategy to end-users/resellers, ensuring engagement and approval from their side. Solid and demonstrated presentation skills.
• Proficient (written, spoken) in English (and ideal additional language)
