Senior Principal Sales Operations

Washington D.C. Metro Area, US - Information Technology and Services

Essential Job Functions


  • Provides reporting for assigned sales organization. Performs highly complex analyses including budgeting, trend analysis, pipeline forecasting, financial modeling and variance of sales data against forecast.

  • Designs sales management training to the sales force. Works with sales management to establish content, prerequisite skills and knowledge for trainees. Ensures that training courses address all levels of employee.

  • Reviews pipeline forecast for accuracy and updates accordingly. Ensures coordination between sales professionals and operations on the sales process

  • Forecasts and maintains an accurate picture of performance against the agreed sales plan and overall performance within the defined offering, to include credit reviews for large scope accounts

  • Incorporates operational changes into future sales forecasting models

  • Gathers and maintains pipeline metrics and forecasts to enable the business to measure progress against targets. Ensures appropriate assignment and tracking of quota for sales professionals for assigned organization

  • Collects budget, forecast and other sales information; interprets, summarizes, and uploads information to sales systems to provide information about profit and loss;

  • Provides guidance to managers and sales leaders on process and development of budgets

  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

  • Distributes leads to sales force to ensure potential opportunities are researched in a timely manner. Prioritizes, leads, identifies and recommends the most appropriate sales personnel for the leads identified.



    Qualifications:



    Basic Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred

    • Twelve or more years of business development, sales or related experience

    • Experience working with the technology industry

    • Experience working with technology products, services, competencies, solutions, and offerings

    • Experience working with a standard sales methodology and supporting tools and applications

    • Experience working with finance and accounting



      Other Qualifications


      • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and prospective clients up to the Board level

      • Strong selling skills

      • Strong communication skills

      • Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel

      • Strong negotiation skills

      • Strong ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks

      • Strong ability to lead and work in a team environment

      • Willingness to travel
