Hewlett Packard is a recognized leader in PCs and printers worldwide. HP Shopping is the eCommece arm of the Printing and Personal Systems division (PPS) and focuses on the Consumer and SMB markets. HP Shopping is the prime destination to learn more about HP’s products, the underlying innovation, and purchase those products online. We are looking for top talent to join our Global Category team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Global Product Manager at HP Shopping, you have ownership for a line of HP products within one of the PPS business segments (Personal Systems, Print, or Services & Solutions). Your mission is to rapidly grow a profitable online business, by extending HP’s retail success into the direct business. Winning requires constant attention to a marketplace where change happens in real time.
You will be a member of the Global Product Category team, which is responsible for driving HP Shopping’s overall business performance. The team is also responsible for launching new product categories, like wearable’s and immersive computing online.
Owns a product line, with full responsibility for revenue and margin.
Develops the HP Shopping global strategy for their business segment, including vision, long-term forecast, core business requirements, and funding strategy.
Builds strong relationships with counterparts in Global Business Unit, aligns strategy, forecasting and financials.
Represents the collective HP Shopping Team to the GBU, by developing working relationships with each of the three HP Shopping regional teams and ensuring each of their perspectives are well represented.
Manages the overall performance of the business segment, identifying additional growth opportunities, as well as current risks and required mitigation plans to achieve segment’s financial goals.
Aligns product offering with target customer segment, considering market trends and competitive landscape.
Acts as the product expert, with deep technical understanding, engaging with both the Global Business Unit and HP Shopping Region counterparts.
Identify requirements and support implementation of global category tools (traffic/conversion, pricing, etc.).
Manages new product launches globally and aligns promotional plans throughout product lifecycle.
Drives sales and margin including upsell and cross-sell of key supplies, accessories and services by applying sophisticated analytics.
Engages closely with worldwide marketing to bring product to life.
Coordinates HP Shopping Roadmap reviews with GBU and HP Shopping Product Team.
Reviews Region sales forecasts.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
5-8 years work experience in eCommerce.
2 years post advanced degree experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or merges and acquisitions.
MBA from a top ranked University or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Capabilities and Skills:
Deep domain expertize in retail category management.
Passion for consumer technology, understanding of underlying PC/Print technologies.
Strong customer advocacy and understanding, awareness of tech trends.
In-depth knowledge of marketing elements (product, pricing, promotion, positioning).
Understanding of eCommerce and a direct sales environment.
Highly analytical and structured, comfortable with sophisticated data analysis.
Track record of producing measurable results.
Thriving in fast-pace environment with real-time decision making.
Strong financial and analytical skills, understanding of P&L drivers.
Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade; strong team player.
Extraordinary drive, confidence, risk taking; positive, “can-do” personality.
Extensive knowledge of eCommerce related tools, as well as Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence.
