BSM Implementation Engineer

Paisley, United Kingdom, GB - Information Technology and Services

You'll be part of a team of very talented engineers distributed all over Europe to deliver end-to-end and transaction monitoring and reporting solutions to the HP outsourcing delivery based on the HP Business Service Management (HP BSM) product suite.


You will design and customize solutions for our customers in the domain of application availability and performance monitoring and reporting (BSM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) and drive their implementation. In this role you will work with Account and Delivery Teams to provide and implement the most suitable BSM solution for that customer, drive request for changes required to deploy the solution with its components, act as a contact and trusted advisor to answer questions, understand the customer environment, work out potential issues and validate e2e functionality of the implemented solution.

You make sure that in customer transformations legacy solutions are migrated timely from their current environment onto HP standards tools & processes.

You'll act as an implementation lead and escalation contact and hand over implemented solutions to our Operational team that provides ongoing support for implemented BSM solutions.


Main responsibilities


Customer Project Activities



  • Drive end to end the deployment of BSM solutions for outsourcing customers, especially for UK Public Sector clients. This will require close communication with account transformation team, delivery staff, and process teams, technical expertise in the HP BSM software suite and rigorous approach to insure proper end to end testing.

  • Provide the on-going support for these BSM solutions

  • Insure delivery staff has been properly trained


Solution Management



  • Work with our external and internal customers to identify gaps and enhancements to the solution

  • Define external reference specifications and bring them to our development organization

  • Prioritize and manage the enhancement requests flow


Consulting and support



  • Be an EMEA subject matter expert in HP Business Service Management (HP BSM), provide consulting to Solution Architects, Transition/Transformation managers during early phases of deals.

  • Participate in pre-sales activities and provide deep level expertise on the BSM tool

  • Provide consulting and support to key client organizations of the BSM tool.


The position is targeted to be located in Erskine. You will be a member of a remote team of IT professionals that is based in several sites in EMEA.






Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:



Essential:



  • Strong IT Experience

  • Know-how and working experiences in HP Software products for application performance and availability monitoring and reporting, specifically Business Service Management (BSM) with its components for Application Performance Management (BSM, SiteScope, BPM, VuGen, RUM, Diagnostics) and HP Operations Manager i (OMi)

  • Know-how and experience in system and application management solutions and concepts

  • Knowledge of Windows, WEB-environments and WEB based applications, network protocols

  • Experience of Project Management in distributed teams, Proven ability to work within & coordinate virtual team

  • ITSM/ITIL knowledge in Incident, Problem and Change Mgmt

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong in communication and negotiation

  • Very well organized and structured

  • Good leadership skills, be a driver

  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills, especially in remote and distributed teams

  • Self-motivated, self-started, flexible, pro-active, able to work to tight deadlines

  • Security Clearance or ability to be security cleared




Preferred (one or more items below):


• Project experiences, preferably in the area of Event Management & Automation



  • Outsourcing delivery experience

  • ITIL certification

  • Know how in some key enterprise applications like

    • Exchange, SAP, etc.

    • Databases (Oracle, MSSQL, …)

    • Middleware



  • Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Unix (Solaris, HPUX, AIX)

  • Know-how in System- and Application monitoring and/or Application Performance Management software products (HP Operations Manager, CA Unicenter, Compuware APM, ...)


Education and Experience Required:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience. May have Master's degree in related field.

Often holds entry-level certification(s) in work field. May hold intermediate-level certification(s) in work field.

Typically several years of relevant experience.
