With an asset reaching a critical milestone a crucial vacancy has opened for an experienced Power Plant Manager with a proven track record of working independently.
As the site based Power Plant Manager you will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will include participating in Engineering, Procurement and Construction design reviews and validating the operability and maintainability of a modern combined cycle power plant. you will be defining and creating operation and maintenance processes and developing training programmes for additional staff. You will provide essential leadership through the assets commissioning stages into operations
To be successful in your application as a Power Plant Manager you MUST be willing to be relocated to a remote, regional location on a permanent basis. You must have a strong background in power generation preferably from a similar position such as managing a cogeneration facility with gas and steam turbine operations experience. Ideally you will have developed from an engineering background to enable you to assist in EPC design reviews, trades background applicants will still be considered. Preference will be provided to candidates with a rich operational background. You will have experience managing a large work force to ensure you can effectively delegate work to your subordinates and keep progress and production on schedule.
Your success in this role will be determined by your ability to work independently and pro-actively. Due to the lean structure of this organisation direct Line Managers are not always available and making business influencing decisions will be a part of your daily routine. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to source information and make informed decisions under pressure and in the interest of the business.
