Our client, Orpic - Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company is Oman’s national refining and petrochemicals company providing 100% fuel to the nation.
Jointly owned by the Government of Oman and Oman Oil Company, Orpic has four plants and a staff complement in excess of 1,600 people of which 70% of the workforce is represented by Omanis.
Orpic is one of Oman`s largest companies and is one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East`s oil industry.
Their refineries at Sohar and Muscat, as well as the aromatics and polypropylene production plants in the Sohar complex, provide fuels, chemicals and feedstock to Oman and to the world.
The Orpic team is consist of more than 1,600 employees - the majority Omanis - work across these four plants with the common goal of building an integrated Omani refining and petrochemicals business of which the nation is proud.
JOB DETAILS
Graduate of Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in plant operation including training, of which at least 5 years should be in an applied position.
Complete understanding of all refinery processes and utility systems.
Must be well versed with the quality (ISO) and Process Safety Management (PSM) concepts.
Must be conversant with the use of DCS, Analogue Control systems, PLCs and Emergency Shutdown System.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Operates, controls and maintains a steady state of operation of one more process units and related equipment in the most safe and efficient manner to meet required throughput, maximize yield and meet required quality specifications. Handles all unit emergencies. Ensures the operations are in accordance with established procedures and instructions.
