Value Services Business Development Consultant

HP Enterprise Group, Technology Services Consulting is currently recruiting for a Value Services Business Development Consultant. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the South Pacific Attach Services Business Lead. This role is a business/sales capacity role focused on driving and managing the P&L of our Value Services portfolio. This portfolio is made up of primarily our installation, deployment and technical services portfolio and our mission critical services range consisting of Proactive Select, Proactive Care Advanced and Datacentre Care.



As Value Services Business Development Consultant this role requires complete financial accountability of these value services lines of business across attach and per event. The portfolio is quite mature and therefore the need is to take the existing portfolio and make it relevant across our business, partners and customers. The role will entail out of the box thinking to understand the market needs and customise our offerings to all segments of the HP market place - SMB, commercial, global accounts and across channel and direct customer space. Under this role, the candidate will work closely with internal business unit teams, direct sales teams, channel partners and be customer facing with customer meetings to represent the business and be the subject matter expert on the value services portfolio.



The role is focused on developing, driving and executing a business plan centred around how to make the HP value services portfolio relate to all stakeholders and to collaborate with the partners for mutually profitable growth.



Key areas and expectations are:


  • Forecasting and pipeline management with the sales team, gap identification, critical deal reporting and recovery plan execution for orders and revenue achievement

  • Creating, planning and executing innovative programs designed around growth and across the various Go To Market

  • Development of new campaigns to drive order growth, Global/APJ campaigns

  • Participation in workshops, quarterly business reviews, planning sessions, business as usual meetings, executive leadership forums

  • Develop and execute training and sales enablement program with a rolling calendar of innovative training methods to drive the HP value services portfolio, collaborate and launch exciting sales training programs with incentives across the direct and indirect sales team. Engagement with the product managers and integration into their teams and initiatives as a virtual team member

  • Leverage the APJ/Global directive on your portfolio and build an executable plan for success. Set milestone and participate in our weekly tracking of actions

  • Handling of escalations and services objection handling

  • Collaborate with internal team members and stakeholders to identify new potential clients and market trends and opportunities

  • Tracking of success, recovery plan development


To be successful in this role you will have spent the past 5 + years in a Solutions/Services role and will have a technical background. You will demonstrate a can-do approach and be able to plan and execute for over-achievement. You will have a proven track record working with Sales assisting with the identification and closure of opportunities as well as providing out of the box ways of selling value services. You will be a hunter with a ‘don’t take no for an answer’ attitude and accountability will be key to your success. As this role requires travel within Australia periodically, the ability and willingness to travel is essential.
