Senior Accountant

This public organisation based in Brisbane CBD are undergoing a period of change with a focus on efficiency and a drive towards improved performance. Due to increased workload pressures, this team require an experienced senior accountant to join them in coming weeks for an ongoing temporary contract that may last upwards of 6 months. The position will report to the Finance Director and responsibilities will predominantly include preparation of monthly/yearly financial statements as well as assisting external auditors at the end of the year. Depending upon skill set and aptitude there will be scope for this role to be broad and varied with an opportunity to develop further assisting the Director in other finance areas. As this role and the changing environment will have its challenges, an experienced accountancy & finance candidate with CA / CPA or equivalent is sought. The successful individual must be a confident and autonomous worker, possess good communication skills and be able to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
