You are a Big 4 trained Chartered Accountant looking for your first move into commerce and Industry.
You will have "aced" you're 'A' levels, graduated from a red brick university and been snapped up by one of the Big 4 accounting firms. Having passed the ICAEW exams at the first time of asking, the world is your oyster.

My client, a $1Billion turnover IT services company is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to work within a very well respected Group Function. You will be given a broad range of experience and have exposure to senior management including the CFO from day one.
Lets look at the details
PURPOSE OF JOB
Manage the financial and management reporting for Latin America Ltd (consolidated revenue $550m)
Provide support and backup to Group Finance Manager for Group reporting
Undertake ad hoc projects as required including acquisition due diligence work
CRITICAL TASKS:
Manage the consolidation process of the 12 countries that comprise the Latin America business using Cognos Controller and the Journal entity accounts (on Sage)
Investigate and analyse material variances
Preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements under IFRS
Researching and evaluating the technical aspects of specific accounting transactions and assess the impact on the consolidated Group
Liaise with Group Tax Manager to ensure the annual tax charge for the region is accurate
Manage the Group capital expenditure request process and undertake a financial and commercial review of all capex requests submitted for Group approval.
Undertake a review of all subsidiaries' key reconciliations at the half-year and year end and manage any other reporting requirements
Ensure that all accounting functions are undertaken in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Corporate Policies and general best practice
Liaise with the Latin America finance management including internal audit on matters requiring resolution
Prepare the Group Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee papers on a quarterly basis
Undertake ad hoc analyses and projects as required
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
All statutory and legal reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
A comprehensive understanding of the financial performance of the operations
Improved financial control over the balance sheets of the subsidiaries
EXPERIENCE:
Newly qualified ACA
Knowledge of IFRS accounting
Prior experience of working in an international environment
