Electrical Engineer Intern

The Drive System and Pipeline Platform team resides within the Measurement and Technology Solutions section in HP's Imaging and Printing Group. We develop applied solutions for partners including local and world-wide InkJet, New Business, R&D and Manufacturing teams. The MTS Section is a cross-disciplinary engineering organization with expertise in mechanical, electrical, controls, software and vision systems. MTS develops new measurement technologies and systems based on established platforms.
Job responsibilities:
This intern position is for an electrical engineer with a background in Hardware Description Language programming for FPGA devices. As a member of the Drive System and Pipeline Platform team you will contribute to all phases of system development from initial project specification through design, implementation, testing, qualification, documentation and deployment. You will adhere to established HW development standards. You will engage with engineering and manufacturing partners to design, develop and test electrical hardware to meet rapid turn-around schedules.
You will help to establish a collaborative work environment both within the immediate team and across the various partner groups in R&D and Manufacturing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Skills:
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering.
Required qualifications:
a) FPGA programming experience in Verilog or AHDL
b) Digital design experience
c) Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
d) Good verbal and written English communication skills
e) Self-directed and highly motivated with excellent teamwork skills
Preferred qualifications:
a) Experience with Quartus and Altera FPGA devices
b) Debugging skills
c) Experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
d) Knowledge of SPI bus (Serial Peripheral Interface)
