Entry Level - Application Support Analyst

We are currently expanding our Government Services - Applications Management team.



The team in general works within a number of Atos’s target markets providing support, development solutions and services to our client base. In particular the team and specifically this role, is concerned with the provision of application support and development services to a central government client. The team works with other specialised groups in Atos providing support for .Net Framework Applications in conjunction with the Infrastructure Support Group, SQL DBA’s, Desktop, networking, call centre etc. to provide an integrated service to the client. In addition there is also a requirement to work closely with a number of external parties at a 3 rd Line Support Level.



The team work within a pressured and service level driven environment that is both challenging and rewarding and provides opportunities to work across a variety of platforms.

Responsibilities include but not restricted to:



Providing 2nd Line Support for Application related incidents;



Providing technical expertise to progress application related incidents right from initial diagnosis through to final Resolution, in accordance with service level requirements;



Become familiar with and provide support for the Core Government applications;



Become familiar with and provide support for non-Core Government applications, for example; Help Desk Services;



Ensure that the progress of all incidents is effectively captured in the call logging system;



Ensure effective hand-over of incidents to the correct referral group and/or 3rd party supplier, ensuring that accurate information is provided and the process is carried out in a timely manner;



Carry out extensive technical investigation prior to hand-over/referral;



Provide 1st Line Support, where necessary for Application related incidents.



Providing Problem & Change Management, involving analysis & impact assessment, as well as feeding into any associated effort/cost estimates.



Job Requirements



Essential / Minimum Criteria



Willingness to undertake training as required and achieve against set learning targets.



Able to undertake and successfully gain SC level security checks



A demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for IT, specifically within the .Net, SQL & XML products arena; for example an awareness of industry knowledge and trends, evidence of IT learning, personal research into the IT Government sector. Ideally with the following:



Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications



Logical thinker with good analytical skills



Quick learner with attention to detail



Good verbal and oral communication skills



Ability to analyse problems from multiple angles in a thorough, comprehensive wayFluent English Language Skills:



Able to communicate with stakeholders on a day to day basis via telephone, email and face to face.



Willingness to travel as required by the business



Desirable Criteria



Record of academic success (higher grades / 1st time passes preferable):



IT related qualification HND / HNC / AS level or equivalent.
