The State and Local Government Organization of HP is seeking a Server Systems Administrator to work in Anaheim, California.



Day to day responsibilities include:



• Responsible for providing technical system administration to include installs, adds, altering configuration and ongoing maintenance for the customer Server Infrastructure and associated desktop equipment.

• Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.

• Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware in the server environment.

• Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.

• Develop training and work level instruction manuals for the environment.

• Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.

• Ask questions to determine nature of problem.

• Create requirements for project level work

• Work with core HP Team to support the customer roadmap, inventory and changes to the environment

• Lead change efforts, creating required documentation to discuss changes to the environment

• Work with 3rd party vendors to fully understand install and support requirements for systems

• Work with end-user and other support staff to resolve connectivity issues



Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:



•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• 3+ years as a Systems Administrator for a mid to large network environment

• Demonstrates good problem solving skills

• Past experience working with a State/Local government environment

• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non technical staff

• Stay abreast of changes and updates in relevant technologies.

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency, work well under pressure and be able to meet multiple deadlines.

• Remain patient and professional at all times.

• Experience with desktop, laptop, mobile devices and some networking equipment

• Experienced with software distribution, auditing utilizing automated tools

• Experience with Microsoft Messaging and collaboration tools

• Experience managing a BES environment



Optional Skills:



• MCSE or other Microsoft Certification

• Knowledge and background with Suse Linux
