Head of Finance (Projects)

Due to an internal promotion, a MNC company in the Oil & Gas industry requires a new Divisional Head of Finance. This is a project-based business and prospective candidates will need to have an Operational Finance background, including strategy planning. Candidates with experience from project-based businesses are particularly welcome to apply.



The responsibilities of the role will include implementing strategic business and operational plans, projects, programs, and systems and the role-holder will provide consultative support to planning initiatives. The role oversees financing strategies and activities, as well as local banking relationships and the role-holder will develop financial business plans and forecasts. The position is also responsible for evaluating and improving the financial programs and systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, and conservation of assets.



This role also manages cash flow planning and ensures availability of funds as needed whilst also overseeing investments and asset management. In addition, the role oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities to Group Corporate Office.



The position also manages 3 Finance Managers and the role-holder will mentor and develop this small team; managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and facilitating the building of an effective team dynamic. In essence, this position is responsible increasing efficiency throughout the business and will have a driving effect on the short and long-term departmental and company goals and objectives.



To be considered for the position, you will be a qualified accountant with at least 8-10 years work experience, most likely gained with the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing or Engineering industries. Applicants from Project-based businesses will be well received. Strong SAP experience is also desired as well as a good pedigree in Operational Finance.
