Hays are currently looking for a Qualified Accountant to join a Government Organisation in the Hervey Bay area. The position will be offered as a contract role for a minimum of 12 months, with a possible further extension.



Reporting directly to the Financial Services Manager, you will be instrumental in providing financial accounting services, advice and operational support to the Group. You will perform a hands-on financial role where you will provide accurate and timely financial information, assist with preparing annual budgets and monthly financial reporting, management of fixed assets, and financial taxation requirements.



To be successful, you will have demonstrated hands-on accounting experience coupled with tertiary qualifications in Accounting and CA/CPA. It is envisaged you will possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, a proven thorough work approach, an outstanding analytical capacity, and effective decision-making skills. You must be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel, and prior experience with Technology One would be highly regarded.
