The Accenture Financial Services Operating Group serves clients in the banking, insurance and capital markets industries. The person in this role will lead marketing and communications for Financial Services in the Europe, Africa & Latin America (EALA) operating unit, the largest of our 3 operating units. They are responsible for the design and implementation of the EALA marketing program, which must support the Operating Unit’s growth strategy and employ the overall Accenture brand strategy and our ‘content led, industry-issue based, digitally enabled’ marketing approach.



The person in this role works with the lead for Accenture’s financial services practice in EALA as well as with the Financial Services leads in different countries to understand the key growth opportunities for the business and prioritize target markets. This person also works under the oversight of the global FS marketing lead, as well as with the global marketing leads for our banking, insurance and capital markets industries and adapts and supports the roll out of our industry positioning strategies in EALA. The overall goal is to differentiate Accenture’s capabilities and create a preference for Accenture in key EALA markets. With input from the various stakeholders, the individual is responsible for the development and execution of a marketing plan, including resourcing, rollout and measurement of the marketing efficacy to support the business’ growth objectives. This candidate must contribute both strategic thinking and hands-on marketing.



This position requires an understanding of the financial services market in EALA as well as digital and business-to-business marketing experience, preferably in a consulting and services industry context. Deep expert knowledge in the development of client-centric and integrated marketing campaigns is required as is the ability to adapt global content to local needs. This role requires a strong leader and team player and someone with experience in leading initiatives across a range of business cultures/languages.



This role will be directly involved in developing the following activities: tailored global thought leadership/issues-based marketing initiatives for individual markets; customized marketing strategies for individual clients; helping to develop and review marketing programs for emerging markets; infusing new thinking in existing marketing programs; supporting the specific marketing agenda in selected markets; yearly marketing planning (budget and content), ROI reporting and budget management.



This person liaises with and supports the Media and Analyst team and collaborates with the marketing leads for the Accenture growth platforms and the various geographic marketing team members to ensure a holistic and integrated client experience.



Key Objectives:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a marketing plan that leverages Accenture’s High Performance brand positioning and effectively supports our EALA business, through execution of targeted marketing activities with dedicated clients and markets

  • Enhance client perception of our capabilities, particularly our deep industry consulting capability, our application services capabilities and our Business Services (specific industry capabilities and offerings)

  • Facilitate access to key client decision makers

  • Align marketing activities with sales efforts and contribute to lead generation in multiple geographies

  • Help develop new and powerful ways of getting access to key industry players




Key Responsibilities:

  • Differentiate Accenture from the competition and create a preference for Accenture in key FS markets in EALA

  • Organize and run the financial services marketing function in EALA overall, including planning, budget management and metrics reporting

  • Provide guidance on marketing related matters to the EALA FS leadership team

  • Provide guidance and support on internal communication to the FS EALA Managing Director

  • Make our global issue based marketing campaigns relevant in EALA, helping localize the content agenda for relevance and power in our key markets

  • Ensure consistency and high quality of targeted marketing plans for different markets in the EALA region and provide guidance to the EALA marketing team

  • Ensure that all global marketing policies and procedures are followed

  • Travel domestically/internationally up to 10% - 20%





  • Bachelor's degree or other 4 year university degree

  • Minimum of 12 - 15 years’ experience in integrated marketing




Professional Skill Requirements:

  • Previous exposure to, and experience working with senior leadership and stakeholders groups

  • Broad overall business acumen, deep knowledge of financial services, and of Accenture's areas of business

  • Experience in leading and managing cross-geographic and cross-cultural teams with varying competencies and marketing/ BD experience

  • Deep knowledge of marketing strategy and planning in a B2B environment

  • Previous exposure and experience with digital / social media marketing

  • Content development / content shaping skill and experience

  • Ability to originate and apply marketing concepts in an industry and country specific context

  • Excellent behavioral and change management acumen

  • Strong implementation orientation coupled with analytical and strategic skills to deliver project outcomes

  • Ability to work pro-actively and with considerable lateral thinking capability

  • Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills

  • Demonstrates strong ownership and stewardship qualities

  • Maintains a flexible and responsive approach to complex issues and managing multiple projects

  • Fluent in English and knowledge of at least one other language
