Command Watch Analyst entry level/college graduate

This position is for an entry level candidate with strong MS Office experience.
Candidates must be US citizens due to client requirements. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret US Government Security Clearance.
Due to budget constraints, only candidates who are local to the Norfolk, VA area or willing to relocate to Norfolk, VA without assistance from HP will be considered for this position.
Only candidates who are 8570 Compliant ( CompTIA Security + certification REQUIRED by client) will be considered.
Since this is a recent college graduate role, we will only consider candidates who have graduated with a 4 year degree within the past 12 months/1 year of the start date of November 2014.

We are currently looking for a (Command Center Watch Stander) to work in (Norfolk Virginia). The candidate who fills this position will be a full time employee of HP supporting our NGEN (formerly CoSC) contract with the US NAVY.
Specific Job Duties Include:
- The entry level Watch Stander assists with lifecycle oversight of Government Directed Actions to ensure implementations are completed in accordance with established timeframes.
- Ensure real time information exchange of operational, critical situations, and disaster preparedness to operational customer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Assists with and occasionally hosts business continuity restoration calls.
- Utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership.
- Takes escalations if any alerts/events are identified by monitoring analysts as significant and requiring action.
- Performs initial assessment and triage on the criticality and impact of events and engages the appropriate processes and personnel if escalation outside OC is required.
- Ensures the Watch Officer is apprised of all details regarding an event or incident in order that the issue can be assigned the appropriate priority based on scope and impact.
- Assists with the creation of PowerPoint slide decks as needed.
- Provides support to Site Operations and other external organizations through the use of problem resolution skills and independent decision making.
- Maintains timely (5 minutes or less) response to network infrastructure warning, critical and fatal event alert notices.
- Responsible for generating well-documented Critical Incident Reports for leadership.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
4 year degree within past 12 months
Secret security clearance with SSBI (can start with interim)
Meets 8570 requirements for IAT1 (A+ certification)
Desired Requirements:
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (ITIL Foundations)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience in a data center environment
- Prior military experience a plus; USMC or USN IT experience preferred
