NEW PERMANENT SENIOR CATEGORY BUYER JOB IN SHEFFIELD



A market leader in it's field, this large manufacturing company based in Sheffield is now looking to recruit a Senior Category Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis.



Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic category management of raw materials across the group. providing a proactive and cost effective procurement service to ensure continuous supply of raw materials and services at a value and quality that meets and exceeds business objectives.



You will be responsible for approximately £15m spend for direct raw materials, services and subcontract finished goods from the European market and provide a strategic category management approach, developing key relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective supplier selection and negotiating contracts and tenders accordingly.



The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar strategic procurement role ideally within the chemical manufacturing industry, although consideration will be given to candidates outside of the industry to those who display strong strategic procurement skills from the wider commercial sector. You will ideally be educated to degree and/or CIPS level and must have a full, clean driving licence as some travel to UK based suppliers will be required
