Understand/interpret pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and related income tax legislation. Ensure payroll processes and related systems’ configurations comply with local country, collective bargaining and company-specific pay policies and local tax legislation. Manage employee data feed to payroll system. Manage third party payroll vendors’ output and service level quality. Review payroll calculations, perform reconciliations according to control procedures and payroll fluctuation analysis. Perform timely tax and social security filings and payments where applicable. Ensure completeness of reportable income and benefits in compliance with legislation. Perform basic payroll accounting related to payroll expenses, accruals and inter-company cross-charges, including preparation of monthly/quarterly balance sheet schedules. Documents payroll processes and procedures. Attend to employees, business partners and authorities’ payroll enquiries, within agreed service levels. Report out on payroll metrics and service level. Continuously work on improving and automating processes for efficiency. Escalate system issues and monitor for resolution and provide system requirements for efficient payroll processing. This also includes performing user acceptance testing before system configurations are released into production. Partner with HR, C&B, Legal and Finance teams on compensation and benefit changes or new program roll out. Co-ordinate with consultants on international assignees’ mirror payrolls and tax reporting. Support / co-ordinate annual statutory financial, tax, pension and social security audits. This includes preparation of audit reconciliations and schedules requested by auditors and co-ordination of actuarial valuations for pension plans. Compile payroll related information for surveys requested by governmental authorities or insurance providers. Provide cash flow forecast to Treasury for payroll disbursements and tax payment forecast to relevant authorities where applicable. Process payroll applications for government rebates/ reimbursements.
Additional Requirement
Proficiency in office automation tools like Excel including macros, database applications.
Education
Diploma or degree holder in any field, with some exposure to payroll or accounting. Regional payroll experience and experience in HR/Payoll ERP system will be added advantage.
