We work in very small, incredibly agile teams that form to close our customer’s capability gaps and bring ideas to reality through technical innovation. We’re constantly seeking out new challenges, but here are some examples of our current projects:

• Big, data-analytical platform that combines petabytes of data with advanced analytics, real-time alerting, and full-featured search. All this functionality is exposed via a distributed web tier. Designers and web developers collaborate with the team to create a user experience that’s tailored for the user base. This team is using technologies such as JRuby, OWF, WMS, and more. NoSQL stores are used for the back-end data in most cases.


• Data-collection platforms that understand users’ workflow for specific activities and gather data throughout the workflow. This technique, when combined with real-time alerting, enhances the user’s ability to make accurate and timely decisions. As always, we give equal attention to the user experience to develop a complete system. This team is using similar technologies as above, but they’re also creating mobile applications to act as the mobile UI for the same back-end system. These mobile applications can work in stand-alone mode and connected mode by using a combination of an XML content server and a CouchDB mobile replication.


• Multiplayer gaming systems used to train both tactical skill sets and strategic decision-making. We combine some of the most advanced simulation engines in the industry with our applications and our understanding of the customer environment to build the most relevant training systems possible. As with any simulation or game, the user experience is absolutely critical to creating a realistic training environment. This project is still in the design phase, so it will be interesting to see what technologies are selected to best complete the project.

Essential Job Functions

• Develops highly complex code and integrates artwork, text, video, and sound into client websites. Creates highly complex, customized applications to enhance website capability based on business needs.
  


• Builds table frames and forms and writes highly complex script within the browser to enhance site functionality.
  


• Ensures that web pages are functional across different browser types; conducts tests to verify user functionality. Resolves complex production support problems by identifying issues and recommending, and when approved, overseeing implementation of solutions.
  


• Investigates and resolves matters of significance for end-user problems and escalates if necessary. Identifies issues and gathers information; determines and recommends courses of action.
  


• Provides training and support for business system analysis and process definition to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  


• Works with end users to address requirements, usability, accessibility, security, and change requests to ensure website functionality. Identifies issues and recommends solutions.
  


• Creates test plans, and reports test results. Works with outside vendors as necessary, in developing tests to ensure future site functionality.
  


• Researches, tracks, and understands new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements. Makes and implements recommendations for new policies and procedures.
  


• Oversees with cost management for site project. Performs necessary quality assurance activities to ensure optimum site functionality.
  


• Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
    
  
  
  • Eight or more years of web, internet, or programmer/analyst experience
    
  
  
  • Experience working with local area and wide area networks
    
  
  
  • Experience working with web authoring languages such as C++, Java, XML, HTML, CGI, ASP
    
  
  
  • Experience working with multimedia applications, database interactions and data modeling tools
