This role is within the Printing & Personal Systems (PPS) CTO, with strong business alignment to the Consumer Products (CPS) organization. It has close engagement with the CPS SVP, and is a member of the CPS leadership team. Includes:
Being a recognized leader on numerous leading edge complex 'state of the art' technologies, theories or techniques.
Being recognized as an authority within the company and the industry. Has a major impact across multiple global HP businesses and contributes to the definition of the future of a technology, theory or technique.
Identifying opportunities that can positively impact business strategy.
Impacting the behavior of key partners, competitors and/or customers within a business and has a major revenue impact on the business.
Contributing to the direction of the industry. Builds relationships across businesses and partners with management to further the strategic relevance of the business unit.
Responsibilities:
Identifies opportunities that exploit the interaction of multiple technical disciplines and / or business area.
Identifies and contributes to the definition of important emerging technologies, theories or techniques directs the analysis of their impact, and positions HP to effectively exploit them.
Advocates and helps build mechanism for sharing knowledge and expertise inside and outside of HP. Shows company thought leadership with customers, analysts and media.
Creates and effectively promotes technical opportunities for new HP business areas and/or created technologies that are foundational for the business area.
Provides technical leadership and leads development of technical strategy at the business unit level. Contributes “hands- on” experience to development of technologies e.g. Physical design, process technologies, algorithms.
Demonstrates expert ability to collaborate, influence and build relationships across business units, senior management and externally with industry experts.
Qualifications
We require at least 15 years in a similar role for consumer-facing product and/or service technologies, including, for example, wearables, tablets and phones.
An undergraduate degree in Engineering is required. An advanced degree is desired.
IEEE certification is highly desired.
