HP is seeking an experienced senior software developer to join the Storage Division to deliver best in class products to our customer base. This individual will play a leadership role on a team that develops, deploys, & maintains an enterprise class mission critical application which is the cornerstone for world class customer support as well as sophisticated business analytics. The candidate must be capable of shaping the product architecture and as well as assume significant development tasks, the candidate will be expected to influence future product strategy across the Global Business Storage Unit.

Responsibilities

• Help provide technical leadership and focus for a team of developers focused on delivering the platform and software to automate the delivery of best in class technical support for our HP Storage products.

• Help promote, and evolve a continuous integration development environment that combines leading edge open-source technologies with internal HP tools with a heavy focus on automated test.

• End-to-End Design Engagement. Including up front definition and refinement of requirements, functional specifications, project planning, Coding and development, Audit & Automated Testing, deployment with embedded real time application monitoring.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

• 
  

  Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent, and a minimum 10-15 years’ experience. The candidate should have a proven history of successful application development as both a technical contributor, an application architect, as well as a technical manager.

  
  

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent organizational, and communication skills. Experience working in Agile development teams is a plus.

• Experience with DevOps type rolls with automated deployment of a complex multi-tiered application on Linux Platforms using tools like chef, puppet, or ansible.

• Experience designing and developing software solutions based on a Linux platform, expert familiarity with multiple software languages such as Java, Python, C++, Perl, Ruby, bash, etc..

• Working knowledge and history of delivering products with embedded databases ideally mixing and matching both SQL and No-SQL technologies.

• Experience developing solutions that incorporate Cloud-Based Virtualization Technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenStack technology. Experience with cloud based object storage technologies would be a plus.

• Experience with best in class monitoring solutions for maintaining an application deployed in the cloud or large enterprise data center is desirable.

• Experience building an application designed to scale out for both performance and availability.
