Financial Controller

A well established retail/distribution business based between Kendal and Lancaster are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their business. Reporting to the MD, you will take full responsibility for the finance function of this £5-10m t/o business.
The successful candidate will be professionally qualified and bring a commercial slant to the role. You will provide timely and accurate financial information and play an active and integral part in the senior management team.
Duties will include:
Production of financial accounts, preparing the year-end and audit pack
Produce month end reporting packs and review and make recommendations to the SMT
Review P&L and B/Sheet
Review KPI data and produce variance reports, highlighting and significant differences
Responsible for all aspects of cash flow management
Look at foreign exchange and currencies to ensure you get the best deal for the business.
Aside to finance you will over see some operational and HR duties.
In terms of interpersonal skills, you will be commercially minded, attention to detail is a must, be a strong communicator and manager and be able to work with little supervision
This is a hands-on role but requires an individual who can add value and make a difference. Knowledge of Sage Accountancy package would be highly desirable.
At this stage my Client are looking only towards a Candidate with relevant ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
