Regional Supplier Manager - Freight

This is an Asia Pacific regional role based in Singapore with responsibilities for the management and execution of bulk freight (Air/Ocean/Road) to our warehouses, indirect sales, and retail business segments. This person shall oversee the day-to-day operations, and manage freight forwarders to drive performance and operational capabilities.



Key Qualifications

• 5 - 8 years experience in logistics industry across international air freight and ocean freight across APAC countries.


• Strong functional knowledge on APAC Air freight market, best practices, industry benchmarking.


• Strong vendor management skills with proven ability in driving operational excellence and working experience with major 3PLs in APAC.


• Experience in domestic freight execution in Japan, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, and South Asia countries.


• Hands-on experience in customs related process, issues impacting international freight movements and strong interpersonal network in the industry.

Description



This role is expected to drive 3PLs for operations excellence around on-time execution, losses and damage, track & trace, freight payment metrics. One will need to collaborate with 3PLs for strategic initiatives around capacity management, volume fluctuations, cost savings, process/system enhancements and leverage on freight forwarder resources to ensure operations execution, shipment status reporting and exceptions management, and timely resolution of shipment issues.



Supporting new product launch processes including finished goods and service level components is part of the role as well as fiscal management on bulk freight across APAC, cost scrubs, review spending trends, cost avoidance and savings, period review of 3PL infrastructure and partners to ensure support for scale and growth and ensure redundancy in supply chain network for critical lanes and segments



The successful candidate needs strong vendor management ensuring they have a proper team structure in place aligned per our need and have clear goals aligned with yearly plans and take on other projects and tasks as required.
