Finance Manager -Systems

New job opportunity for a qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA Systems Accountant with excellent systems experience to join this major local business based in Basingstoke.
As a Systems Finance Manager you will be managing all finance modules of the system, ensuring that finance development and management is aligned to the operational finance team strategy.
You will be supporting the management of the finance system processes, ensuring the system is utilised to its full potential and making sure the finance team is involved in all key developments.
Day to Day responsibilities
Testing the accuracy and integrity of all the financial postings from all transactional data through the system.
Ensuring all payments, refunds and unpaid accounts create correct accounting entries and income deferrals.
Managing bi-weekly regression testing and authorising code release to live on completion of satisfactory tests.
Determining system strategy and development needs, in conjunction with Operational Finance Managers, Business representatives and key stakeholders from the call centre.
Project managing system changes/projects involving multiple resources from within finance and outside of finance, i.e. User Acceptance Testing. As well as ensuring major system process flows are documented and maintained in accordance with good system governance
Managing of hand-overs from the central BAU team to the users within Finance, ensuring appropriate roll-out and training plans to facilitate a smooth transition into Operational Finance teams
Deciding the most effective processes to be followed within Finance and ensure the inter-relationship with Finance and other business areas are fully taken account of.
Skills and Qualifications
Accounting Qualification or equivalent experience
Detailed knowledge of the system, or a similar customer database system.
Substantial experience working with Finance systems and interfaces.
The ability to influence at senior level.
The capability to work effectively alongside IT and developers.
The ability to anticipate and articulate future requirements
Experience in people management
Project management skills
