RESPONSIBILITY The Cloud Presales Engineer / Solution Architect is responsible for leading the technical engagement between HP and the customer in order to craft the most relevant and competitive technical solution to the customers’ problems. This means that the presales engineer must be fluent in the state of the art both inside and outside of HP, and must provide credible technical advice and guidance both to the customer and the HP sales teams involved in the sales process.
More concretely, these responsibilities include:
- Consult with the customer to create the most relevant Cloud solution to their issues; this is known as “deal shaping” which is intended to help the customer articulate their issues in ways that are well-solved by HP CloudSystem and Automation technologies.
- Provide feedback back to the business unit and product owners within HP to help the BU close gaps in the product offering.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related discipline; post-graduate qualifications (e.g. MBA) preferred.
* 5-10+ years of presales consulting experience.
* Experience working in and leading virtual teams.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIRED
* IT Automation / Cloud methodology knowledge and background.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Fluency in English and local language
* Excellent customer relationship skills; able to establish and maintain stability and credibility with customers through multiple product developments and organizational changes.
* Demonstrated advocacy for customer requirements within the broader context of HP product development and market motions.
