Inventory Analyst/Supply Chain Analyst

Are you an Analyst (supply chain) with expertise in Inventory and Demand planning/forecasting? Our renowned client in Derby has a newly created permanent job for a skilled Logistics/Supply Chain Analyst to optimise Inventory levels by accessing, analysing and validating data to maintain optimum inventory levels across the business.
The Inventory team manage 40,000+ SKU's on site and in transit across the globe. They focus on a variety of challenges to drive and maintain inventory levels across UK and International sites whilst managing replenishment through projected sales forecasts. You will report directly to the Inventory Manager and be responsible for:
Driving inventory levels by use of root cause analysis to identify reasons for inventory shortage or excess
Calculation and assessment of safety stock, order policy and other inventory parameters to optimise signal into material planning
Analysis of stock levels held at customer locations to maximise stock turns
Create valuation reports to value demand, supply and stock levels
Identify potential errors prior to order placement taking preventative action using monthly trends
Analysis of slow moving and obsolete stock and make suggestions to reduce excess inventory
Controlling intercompany stock to maximise stock utilisation globally
Design, maintenance and updating systems
Assist in designing, reviewing and streamlining processes involving inventory
Create analytical models, reports and briefs for colleagues and managers
Applicants need to demonstrate expertise and a strong understanding of the supply chain within logistics, manufacturing or aftermarket parts sectors. You may be a Inventory Analyst, Stock Control Analyst, Forecast Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst or Materials Analyst who is passionate about managing internal performance and delivering world class performance to your customers
You will need to have strong commercial awareness and outstanding customer interaction skills. The ability to solve customers' inventory issues by quickly formulating a plan to resolve supply issues would be a distinct advantage.
Advanced Excel including macro's, pivot table, v-look ups is essential
Experience of AS400 or SAP is an advantage.
