We are currently expanding our Testing Practice to meet continued growth within the business.



The UK testing practice currently combines the expertise of over 170 testers with a diverse range of skills operating on a multitude of projects across a varied range of projects and sectors.



This role forms a crucial role in ensuring we meet our client’s expectations and deliver world class testing services to our customers.



The Testing Practice is technology agnostic and continually strives to update our skills portfolio. Currently we are moving our practice to utilise Agile / SCRUM methodologies, which will continue as we continue to win new business and expand the team.



The role operates UK wide on client sites so we need people willing to work on a flexible basis across the UK as needed.



Much of our work will also require that you are able to undertake and successfully gain security clearance (SC).



Core duties include:




  • A Test Manager, responsible for planning, designing, building, managing, executing, analysing and reporting on tests. Using appropriate testing tools and techniques ensuring new and amended software, together with any interfaces, performs as specified and intended against the technical and functional specifications.

  • Responsibilities will include:

  • Interpret and execute complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.

  • Document test results compared to pre-defined criteria.

  • Use normal operating facilities, diagnostic tools, technical manuals, test scripts and systems documentation to identify, diagnose and report on system errors.

  • Review test results and to modify tests if necessary.

  • Compile and present reports on systems quality and metrics

  • Produce re-usable test scripts and procedures to test new and amended software to be executed by self and other staff.

  • Produce test plans to test the effect of the new and changed software on existing systems for their effects on operating characteristics.

  • Manage and mentor test analysts on a day-to-day basis during a test delivery.

  • Act as a mentor to one or more resources, providing support and guidance by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve the mentee potential.

  • Deputise for Senior Managers when required to do so.

  • Support the development of the test capability in the test services practice.

  • Supporting pre-sales, bid and prospects

  • Support sale generation activities.






Job Requirements



Essential




  • ISTQB - Foundation

  • ISEB Software Testing Certification

  • Experience of Applications development and/or design

  • Experience of working with at least two of the following Test Tools:



    • HP Quality Center

    • HP LoadRunner or Performance Center

    • HP Quick Test Pro (QTP)

    • Selenium



  • Ideally product vendor certified in one of the aforementioned test tools

  • Experience of developing, designing and/or testing mission-critical applications

  • Can both work to standards and propose improvements to same

  • Experience in authoring test plans and reports

  • Support interview activities for bringing new team members into the test capability area

  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement both internally and client facing

  • Demonstrable experience in reporting

  • Willing to travel as needed by the business

  • Able to gain SC

  • Fluent English Language skills, both written and verbal

  • ISTQB Software Testing Certification Advanced level

  • Writing Test Strategies

  • Bid/proposal support training

  • Intermediate presentation training

  • Interview training

  • HP Quality Center
