Initially working client side as a project manager your client owns 18,000 ha of land throughout New Zealand. Their Property revenue and Investment team manages and administers approximately 7,000 leases, grants, licences to 3rd parties across a diverse property portfolio including Industrial, Rural, Commercial and residential land.



The Projects Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of cross-organisational projects. Projects may relate to the recovery of local authority rates, reviewing portfolio for CAPEX & OPEX recovery opportunities, Civil infrastructure and deferred maintenance, resolving CPI adjustment issues, and working with the various teams as needed.



In this role you will be hands on and responsible for:



* Influencing line managers to ensure staff allocated to project teams achieve results.

* Establishing clear accountabilities, expectations and performance standards with project team members.

* Understanding and complying with government guidelines for managing projects.

* Completion of project documentation including, but not limited to, reporting, business cases, change control documentation, communication plans, risk and issue registers, post implementation reviews.

* Development and management of budgets and schedules.

* Ensuring all project deliverables pass a robust quality management process.

* Representing the client's interests and influence decision makers when attending m project meetings.

* Ensuring Corporate Procurement Policy and Guidelines are followed.

* Building strategic alliances with key government and industry representatives to ensure our client's views are influential in their decision-making.

* Developing effective working relationships with other managers and staff in order to transfer knowledge and learning from Property Development to the rest of the business.

* Development of quality implementation plans and ensuring delivery against those plans



To be successful in this role, you will have:



* A high level of experience in accountability and project monitoring and a proven track record in leading large work programmes, taking into account both strategic and operational needs.

* Ability to management communication and project documentation

* Ability to read plans and specifications relating to property assets

* Sound judgement, integrity and discretion, particularly around strategic risk management in relation to projects

* Excellent negotiating and relationship management skills.

* Working knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to SOE's, public works and land disposals
