This local government organisation is committed to improving South East Queensland through maintaining consistently high standards of safety and local law compliance that benefit the wider community.
Due to an internal secondment, an immediate opportunity exists for an experienced Parking Regulations Officer to join a busy council team on a 6 month contract basis to commence ASAP.
You will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive investigations into parking and other vehicle related breaches of relevant Local Laws and State legislation and completing corresponding investigation reports, evidentiary statements, compliance and infringement notifications.
Carrying out routine patrols within the council jurisdiction, you will enforce local laws related to regulated parking, school zone parking, heavy vehicle parking and issuing infringement notices for breaches where relevant. Promoting quality customer service, you will be involved in the education and increasing the awareness of local and state legislation to the wider community.
You will ideally have prior knowledge from working as a Local Law or Parking Officer for another local government or have experience investigating, interpreting and enforcing local and state legislation. Essential to your success are clear and confident communication skills and an ability to liaise with a wide range of people. A current Qld drivers licence and ability to be appointed as an authorised person is also required.
