Category Manager

This blue-chip commercial organisation are looking for an experienced Procurement professional to join their expanding, best-practice team. A key role from a succession planning perspective, the key focus is to manage the procurement of individual categories of spend to deliver significant cost savings and quality and service level improvements.



Key duties:

· To provide leadership, guidance and advice on Procurement of the specialist categories

· Develop coherent Category Management Procurement Strategies within the overall Procurement Strategy

· Ensure robust Procurement processes are in place enabling the achievement of efficiencies through best practice procurement.

· To review and monitor supplier performance and report to Senior Procurement and Business stakeholders



Experience & skills needed:

· Experience of managing a specialist Procurement category portfolio

· Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

· Self-motivated and resilient in approach

· Experienced in understanding contracts and supplier agreements

· Degree calibre preferred with part or full CIPS qualification a preference
