Network Engineering Manager

Reading, United Kingdom, GB - Telecommunications



Prestigious opportunity with a pioneering ISP and Unified Communications Solutions provider for an experienced Network Engineering Manager! As Network Engineering Manager your team will be dedicated to design, documentation, service development and deployment of IP/MPLS core networks.



Our Network Engineering Manager will be responsible for:-



-Managing a team of highly qualified engineers

-Ensuring resources availability for projects and rota

-Achieving KPIs and service levels

-Network technical signoff and design authority

-Ensuring uptime and availability

-Escalation and interface to other departments

-Strategic planning, and to be seen as senior level consultant for the company

-Participation in the on-call rota (typically 1 week in 4)



The successful Network Engineering Manager will possess a combination of the following skills:-



- Previous managerial experience with direct reports

- Extensive hands on network experience equivalent of greater than CCIE level

- Strong routing & switching experience, in ISP and/or NSP environment.

- Strong Knowledge of internet, broadband, MPLS, DC/hosting connectivity and NFV

- Expert knowledge with Cisco ASR 9K and 1K - 7600/6500 platforms, Nexus and ASA - fluent with IOS, NX-OS and IOS-XR

- Sys admin background with unix and scripting skills (perl/python/sql)
