Job Description
Communications, Media and Technology professionals develop and deliver business solutions across all CMT industries
A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:
- Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals.
- Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within Accentureon matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach.
- Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Decisions have a major day to day impact on area of responsibility.
- Manages large - medium sized teamsand/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Evaluation of technology options, based on business imperatives, competitive market and industry developments
- Capturing business requirements and translating them into functional requirements
- Defining Solution Architecture options, including the process of making sound architecture decisions
- Conducting vendor evaluation and selection processes (RFP)
- Designing and implementing network solutions
- Ability to meet travel requirements where needed
- Planning and managing diagnosis and assessment activities and defining high-level programme/action plans
- Identifying opportunities to drive more value from an organisation's IT strategy through technology strategies in targeted areas, including technology infrastructure (overall as well as security, networks, and desktop) and technology architecture (overall as well as mobility, portals, and information management)
- Ensuring technology requirements will allow modeling and address performance and security
- Ensuring high level design supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc. (e.g., solution architecture)
- Planning and managing technology design activities
- Being recognised as an expert on one or more technology vendors/products/areas
- Leading the technology evaluation and selection effort
- Planning and managing capacity planning activities
- Minimum Bachelors degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in Telecommunications/Communications & High Tech Industry
- Experience with at least one of large service provider, network equipment vendor and/or network consulting firm.
- Minimum 3 years experience developing one or more of the following network architectures/technologies:
- IP networks (IP, MPLS, Ethernet), Transmission (SDH, DWDM), Network Control Plane systems (Dynamic QoS, AAA, Location), LAN/WAN Devices and VPN applications, Load Balancing and Firewall applications, Fixed Access Networks (HFC - Docsis, Packet Cable, Mobile RF, PON, xDSL), Wireless access networks (3G, Wimax, Satellite), IP networks and protocols- Transport, routing, Tunnelling,
- Strong knowledge of associated services and technologies:
- IP Streaming, VoD - Video on Demand, Voice (VoIP) and teleconferencing, Interactive Gaming
- High-Speed Internet services, OSS and BSS systems and processes (Provisioning, Assurance, Inventory etc.), Service Delivery Platforms and IMS, Conditional Access and Digital Rights Management.
- Application Servers & Operating Systems (DHCP, DNS, LDAP, etc.), Network security, systems and processes, Interception systems and processes
- Proven ability to articulate solution options
- Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable
