Technical Infrastructure Lead

I am urgently recruiting for a Technical Infrastructure Lead to join a new programme of work based in Oxford, for an initial 12 month contract (with the possibility of extension).



There are two main focal points of this role. Firstly you will be responsible for conducting a full review of the existing infrastructure and providing support to the wider organisation (advising on the technical capability of the existing applications and database). Secondly, to act as the key decision maker to assist the organisation with the vendor selection process of a Cloud Solution.



You will be a hands on technical infrastructure lead with proven experience of building servers, security/ firewalls as well as the ability to interpret vendor documentation to allow the organisation to select the most appropriate cloud provider (with a consultative approach).



Ideally you will have previous experience working on projects within a SQL Server environment, however we are looking for someone confident in their ability to explore the benefits of moving to Open Source technologies (MySQL, Postgresql), whilst being able to communicate this information to non technical teams and clearly documenting throughout all stages of the programme.



For this programme of work my client is looking to recruit a number of different posts and are keen to speak with candidates who are genuinely interested in exploring the benefits that technology changes can bring to an organisation. You will be enthusiastic in your approach to problem solving, have a 'can do' attitude and able to motivate teams (with varying abilities and experience), to work towards the same goal.



You will ideally have previous experience working within a Healthcare/ NHS environment (or other Public Sector) and be sympathetic to the challenges and culture in this sector. Although this is not essential any candidates who have recent/ previous NHS experience are likely to be preferred for interview.
