Ability Lead the development cable manufacturing & extrusion projects to meet a wide range of product performance and cosmetic requirements for Power (AC & DC) and Data (Digital & Analog) communications cables. Lead Apple suppliers to design and produce world-class cables: Work with engineers at supplier plants in Asia to utilize new materials and cable processing techniques. Trouble shoot existing cable designs at current vendors Develop collaborative relationships with Apple suppliers through training and quality control visits. Advise supplier plants on maintaining correct controls on the processes. Thermoplastic processing for insulation and jacketing Collaborate with supply management, product design, manufacturing engineering groups on material selection, design feasibility and aesthetics of cable designs. Serve as Apple’s in region cable manufacturing engineer by leveraging a thorough understanding of properties of various cable manufacturing processes and techniques Institute continuous process improvement measures from initial product design through production ramp of new products. Proficient with the use of Design For Manufacturing, SPC, & DOE. Take the leading role in driving the improvement of productivity and quality of cable manufacturing from Copper Converting through jacketing. Travel to USA is required periodically. Written and oral communication skills in English are necessary.

•Fluoropolymer processing for cable insulation and jacketing •Fluoropolymer and thermoplastic foaming •Familiar with of all aspects of cable manufacturing including Copper Drawing, annealing, coating, bunching, twisting, insulation and jacketing. •Familiarity with all materials used in cable manufacture such as tapes, coatings, fibers, etc. •Experience in managing complex development programs with overseas vendors (Asia) is preferred. •Profile extrusion

•BS or MS preferred in Plastics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering •Position requires a minimum of 5+ years in the cable manufacturing industry.
