Customers are also expecting high levels of innovation and demonstrated value from their integration partners, so the SAP Project Managers are required to identify opportunities and facilitate any necessary actions to demonstrate innovation.
The SAP Project Manager would undertake overall responsibility for the management and delivery of contracted small to medium size projects of a TCV up to £1 million consisting of up to £0.5 million l abour costs to achieve benefits of strategic importance, whilst ensuring continuation of current business activities.
This includes;
- defining business benefits
- project planning
- budget management
- risk management
- definition and control of project change
- directing and supporting the project team(s).
The SAP Project Manager would be required to undertake the following tasks;
- Responsible for the delivery of small to medium sized projects, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor the deliverables to the business
- Actively follows and promotes appropriate Project Governance as per the UK Business Management System (BMS) and compliant with the Global Delivery Platform (GDP)
- Actively engage in Bid to Delivery and challenge solutions to ensure fit for purpose; Ensures that realistic estimates of costs, timescales and resource requirements are agreed, monitoring progress against these criteria, taking corrective action as necessary
- Delivering against scope and managing through change control, identifying new business opportunities
- Ensures that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared, maintained and actively managed
- Active management of the project team, developing and maintaining resource schedule, monitoring the deployment of individuals to ensure their effective contribution
- Proactive management of 3 rd party subcontractors
- Accurate and timely management of project revenue and margin as per business case
- Financial estimation and active management of risks and issues
- Delivery Excellence Reporting, reports internally on delivery status, key performance indicators, etc; in a consistent, timely and accurate manner
- Identifies issues and is able to articulate the impact on the project in terms of time, cost and quality
- Ensures that any strategic problems are identified at the earliest opportunity, highlighted to the relevant Programme / Engagement Director
- Stakeholder management of communication plan to the sponsor level, managing their expectations for projects
- Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes
- Identifies and assesses options for the implementation of new or improved business processes and presents them, with recommendations, to decision makers at senior management level
- Where applicable, to identify and support new business, ensuring pipeline defined
- Where appropriate, manage proposals creation of up to £0.5 Million
Job Requirements
Essential
- Demonstrable successful background in SAP Project Management with delivery from local & offshore teams, including evidence of (minimum) 2 full lifecycles of project managing implementation projects (team size 2 to 15 people).
- Financial Management: Previous equivalent responsibility for P&L, (comparable budget should be c. £1m of project revenue).
- Communication Skills: Fluent English written and verbal. Confident communicating with senior stakeholders, including presentations and gaining buy in from key decision makers.
- Risk management, able to identify immediate and long term risks to business services and take appropriate action to ensure service levels.
- Change management: Identify operational areas for business improvements and oversee / implement changes.
- Responds constructively when under pressure.
- Communicates and implements vision.
- Wins the commitment and support to achieve objectives.
- Is able to deal with ambiguous situations and provide leadership to ensure successful outcomes.
- Is positive about situations, relationships and problems.
- Demonstrates calm and controlled performance.
- Takes initiatives and helps others identify opportunities and then see them through.
- Actively seeks to promote and share knowledge, insights and learning.
- Must be able to drive. Must be fully mobile in terms of assignment location.
- Qualification of project management skills e.g. Prince II.
Desirable
- SAP Solution knowledge – is able to articulate, at a high level, the capabilities and benefits of SAP Solutions and the key challenges around supporting these systems.
- Educated to degree level and/or holds a professional qualification.
- Ability to be SC cleared.
