Strategic Sourcing Director

Cambridge, United Kingdom, GB - Pharmaceuticals

A Senior Leadership opportunity has arisen with a hugely profitable and successful global organisation based just outside Cambridge. As Strategic Sourcing Director, this role sits in the Global procurement team with high levels of autonomy and profile across the Executive and Management population globally.



Key responsibilities:

* Develop, agree and implement Purchasing Strategies that deliver short and long term Business Strategy.

* Develop the annual improvement and savings targets for the global Procurement function for agreement with Executive team.

* Analyse and improve existing supply chains and develop completely new supply chains as necessary which could be in new countries to support the business strategy.

* Strategic Purchasing, market and supplier expert globally for the spend categories assigned.

* Responsible for the management of large and complex purchases

* Represent the global Procurement function at internal meetings and represent the organisation at supplier meetings and industry events.

* Act as deputy to the CPO in all aspects of the management of the Global Procurement Function.



Candidate profile:

* A graduate, ideally MCIPS qualified.

* Significant purchasing experience at senior levels in manufacturing Industry

* Well versed in category management and embedding procurement strategies across an International Procurement function

* Exceptional stakeholder management skills and able to adapt style to suit nuances of a global stakeholder base

* Language skills an advantage with experience of SAP beneficial.
