Senior Network Engineer

Greater New York City Area, US - Information Technology and Services

This position is for an onsite Network Engineer to provide network support, including data centers and large corporate LAN / WAN networks at multiple locations. Responsible for operational activities and project work, along with some design/optimization for a large corporate environment. Duties include the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of a Cisco enterprise network switching environment, and WAN/MAN sites. Duties include release management, configuration management, incident management, change management, service level management, and security management of Cisco enterprise networks. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with LAN and data center network support. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of network related tasks:

- Troubleshooting of more complex network related issues including resolution of outages/incidents as well as more advanced Service Request functions.

- Network monitoring, Remote administration, configuration, trouble shooting, setup, deployment, IP Schema, IP Protocol, and any other applicable operational configuration parameters for all managed network devices.

- Coordination with other tower teams for issue resolution (if required) .

- Ensuring successful implementation of changes needed for network performance optimization, new requirements etc.

- Effective communication and coordination of events during handling incidents for any major network outages.

- Experience in documentation of the Network Services e.g. Design criteria and standards, Topology documentation

- Proper documentation of incidents, service request, change requests as per standard process.

- Proper handling the incidents escalated from NOC & other teams.

-Interacting with TAC centers for both equipment vendors and WAN service provider.
