This government organisation plays a critical role the maintenance and delivery of community and infrastructure services for a sizeable remote community in Far North Queensland.



Reporting to a Director of Corporate Services, we are seeking a Chief Accountant who will take responsibility for delivering accurate and efficient accounting services. Managing a team of up to eight staff, you will lead financial planning, budgeting and preparation of financial statements for this organisation.



We are seeking a Qualified Accounting professional who ideally has some experience in public sector or government. You will have demonstrated experience in staff leadership and financial management, skilled in financial and management accounting. Your skills in understanding and interpreting standards and legislation will be highly regarded, as will your strong communication and interpersonal skills.



This position is offering approximately $100K with extra attractive benefits and entitlements. There is travel involved in this position, which will involve 3-5 days every second month away from Cairns.
