Senior Assistant: Application Developer - Intern

Washington D.C. Metro Area, US - Information Technology and Services



CSC is seeking qualified summer interns to join our team providing computing system support to U.S. Navy surface warfare clients. Successful candidates will perform software programming. maintenance, analysis, and user support in the functional areas of training systems, command and control, weapons control, radar, infrastructure and tools development using C/C++, Java, Ada programming languages along with web technologies. Successful candidates will provide expertise and technical support to maintain and advance capabilities of legacy and COTS Navy computing systems. Tasks include, but are not limited to, application software development, hardware, operating systems (Linux, Solaris, VxWorks, etc.), middleware, integration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and research and development for Navy programs (e.g., AEGIS, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), etc.), and their supporting systems.



Essential Job Functions

• Codes, documents and implements programs according to the project specifications provided.


• Participates in peer reviews.


• Tests code; executes unit test plans for assigned programming tasks.

Qualifications



Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.


• Zero or more years of programming experience


• Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software


• Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
